Current Exhibition: ARText
Launch Pad Cooperative presents a collaborative, multimedia exhibition, ARText, opening April 26, 2013 through May 31, 2013. This collaborative exhibition is an experiment in cross-disciplinary methods, randomly pairing one visual artist from Launch Pad Cooperative with a poet from the Toledo literary scene. ARText aims to push the limits of routine individual creative processes, embracing modes of creative production that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable. ARText also aims to further unify two growing yet relatively disconnected creative communities within the greater Toledo area.
The participants include:
Timothy Gaewsky/Andrew Field, Crystal Gale Phelps/Public, Julia LaBay/Courtney Fillion, Ian Welch/Carl Dietrich, Hannah Lehmann/Kayla Williams, and Tinola Mayfield-Guerrero/Tara Armstrong.
Dates: April 26, 2013 - May 31, 2013
Opening reception: April 26, 2013 from 6-9pm
Closing reception: May 31, 2013 from 6-9pm
Featured Lines Reading Series: Andrew Field
Launch Pad Cooperative is pleased to present Andrew Field as the guest reader for the Featured Lines reading series May 22, 2013. Each month Launch Pad will host a different writer or poet to present an extended reading at the gallery followed by a question and answer session. The aim of this reading series is to shine the spotlight on a single writer; providing them with the platform to present a body of work and the necessary time to engage and connect with the audience.
Andrew Field is earning his master's in English from the University of Toledo. He writes book reviews for The Rumpus and has published essays about John Ashbery and Robert Creeley at The The Poetry Blog. His chapbook, "The Relationship Between Nouns and Verbs" was published by the University of Toledo Press in May.
Featured Lines is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7:30pm. Readings begin at 8:00pm.
